Wooden Chest of Drawers with Laminate Top
Period: 1950s
Four-drawer chest of drawers in veneered wood, characterized by a clean, well-proportioned line, typical of post-war Italian production.
The structure is lightened by tapered legs connected by a thin crosspiece, an element that gives momentum and architectural definition to the volume. The slightly rounded sides seamlessly complement the shape, avoiding rigidity.
The top is made of ivory-colored laminate, framed by a raised wooden edge: a functional solution popular in the 1950s, designed to withstand daily use while maintaining an easy-to-clean surface.
The drawers feature molded brass handles, with their original patina, which introduce a textured and graphic accent to the façade.
Materials:
• Veneered wood
• Laminate
• Brass
Condition:
Good overall condition, with signs of aging on the laminate top and minor traces of use on the frame, consistent with its age.
