Wall Cabinet/Display Cabinet with Glass Door – Italy, mid-20th century (1950s–1960s)
Small, single-door wall cabinet made of solid wood and plywood, painted in a warm ivory tone. The structure is simple and functional, with compact proportions and a slightly irregular line that betrays artisanal or semi-artisanal production.
The front door is framed and fitted with flat glass, secured by a small burnished metal key-ring lock, an original element that adds character. Inside, a fixed shelf divides the space into two compartments.
The interior lining is particularly interesting: decorative floral paper in shades of orange, green, and ochre, typical of 1950s–1960s domestic taste, creating a warm and narrative contrast with the neutral exterior. The same motif is also repeated on the internal shelf.
The back is made of rough, nailed wooden board, while the construction shows simple joints and signs of wear consistent with its age: small chips, cracks in the paint and light wear on the edges.
