Shop Display Counter with Wood and Glass Frame – 1940s/1950s
A display counter of Italian craftsmanship, dating back to the 1940s or 1950s, features a solid wood frame with a warm, natural finish, highlighting a beautiful grain, likely walnut or burl.
The body is entirely glazed on three sides, with clear glass panels inserted into thin metal guides, designed to ensure maximum visibility of the items on display. The front features sliding glass doors with a metal lower track system, typical of commercial furniture of the period.
The interior features a full-length glass shelf, dividing the display space while maintaining visual lightness and continuity.
The upper shelf is made of wood with a central glass insert, a functional detail that allowed for lighting or a view from above (probably originally associated with internal lighting, still visible in the structure).
The base is fuller and darker, almost like a plinth, to give visual and structural stability to the whole.
