Set of 4 "Caprile" chairs by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina, 1980s
This refined set of four "Caprile" chairs designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina in the 1980s is a perfect example of the designer's exploration of the relationship between structural rigor, comfort, and formal purity.
The chairs feature a black lacquered cylindrical frame over which an elegant brick-colored leather covering is stretched, featuring visible stitching and shaped to naturally follow the curves of the seat and backrest. The design is both essential and sophisticated: an almost architectural geometry lightened by the visual softness of the leather.
The contrast between the satin black frame and the warm leather creates an extremely contemporary balance, typical of Frattini's style in the 1980s. The rounded lines of the vertical elements and the continuity between the seat and backrest create a strong yet discreet graphic presence.
Cassina logo on the underside of the frame.
Made in Italy.
The chairs are in excellent condition.
