Edra's Rose Chair, designed by Masanori Umeda in 1990, is an iconic armchair that combines sculptural design and comfort.
Crafted in red velvet, it is composed of a series of padded petals that open to form a large blooming rose, transforming the piece into a true organic sculpture. The structure rests on three tapered legs in polished aluminum, which visually lighten the seat and accentuate its elegance.
In this case, the armchair is a used model and therefore not perfectly intact: the velvet has creases and signs of use, especially in the contact areas, while the internal petals appear somewhat relaxed compared to their original tension. Despite this, it retains its dramatic power and the immediately recognizable nature of the design.
