Designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli, the Platone folding desk was created as the perfect complement to the famous chair of the same name. Designed in the 1970s, it embodies the same principles of functionality, lightness, and mobility, and is designed to meet the needs of dynamic, flexible, and temporary environments, such as conference rooms, schools, or modular offices.

The desk has a chromed or painted tubular steel frame, which allows it to be folded completely, reducing its overall size. The tabletop, generally in white plastic laminate, is simple, linear, and slightly inclined to improve ergonomics for writing or reading.

A distinctive technical and aesthetic detail is the visible yet discreet hinge mechanism, which allows for quick and secure closure without the need for tools.
