Pendant lamp with overlapping metal elements and an opaline globe – Italy, 1970s
Italian pendant lamp from the 1970s featuring a large globe in milky opaline glass with a light internal haze and textured irregularities typical of the hot-worked process.
The glass surface features a soft opaline "dirt," not a defect but a natural variation in the glass mass, which contributes to a deeper and more enveloping light.
The upper structure, composed of overlapping metal elements in a trumpet-like shape, introduces a bold and typically modernist sculptural touch. The contrast between the solid sphere and the modular verticality of the metal creates a formal balance reminiscent of the 1970s.
Attributable to Italian production from the Lombardy area, in the style of Goffredo Reggiani.
Era: 1970s
Materials: Milky opaline glass with slight internal variations, chromed and satin-finished metal
Condition: Good overall condition with minor signs of aging on the metal structure consistent with its age
