Modular version of the AEO armchair by Paolo Deganello for Cassina, in a semicircular arrangement.
Visible modularity: the five seats are joined in a single curved composition, confirming the flexibility of the AEO system. This type of configuration was already envisioned in the original design: rows of linear or curved seats could be created, perfect for shared spaces.
Swivel horn base: each seat has the signature gray molded plastic base shaped like an inverted "goblet," a distinctive element of the design.
Backrest and seat: the backrests appear to be made of canvas or a technical synthetic material, some in a solid gray, others with thin vertical stripes. The seat padding is in alternating colors (light blue and striped brick red), and removable covers follow the "democratic" and customizable logic of the original design.
Raw and radical aesthetic: this composition embodies the experimental and anti-bourgeois spirit of radical Italian design of the 1970s—no superfluous decoration, just structure, function, and a deliberately raw aesthetic.
