Italian Mahogany Bar Cabinet with Interior Mirrors, 1940s–1950s
Elegant mid-century Italian bar cabinet, crafted from mahogany veneer with sinuous lines and details typical of Italian production between the late 1940s and early 1950s.
The structure features a refined contoured profile with curved sides and a slightly wavy upper section, a feature that lends a sense of momentum and lightness to the overall design. The surfaces are veneered with carefully matched vertical grain, enhanced by a warm, glossy finish that highlights the mahogany's chromatic depth.
The two front doors conceal a fully mirrored interior with a central shelf in cut glass, a solution originally designed for displaying bottles and glasses. The interior mirrors display natural oxidation and mercury speckling, a detail consistent with the age of the cabinet and particularly appreciated for its authentic, atmospheric character.
The construction details are remarkably elegant:
* turned and tapered feet;
* Original brass ferrules;
* Cast metal ring handles;
* Rounded profiles and curved fittings for a streamlined look;
* Original hardware and lock.
