Iron Bookcase – 1970s
Open bookcase made entirely of iron, featuring a simple and rigorous structure. The frame is composed of thin square-section uprights that form a light yet solid geometric grid, with five solid sheet metal shelves.
The finish is intentionally textured: the iron features a uniform oxidized patina, with color variations ranging from warm brown to rust, emphasizing its industrial and authentic character. The surfaces show signs of aging, scratches, and light oxidation consistent with use and age.
The design is minimal, almost architectural, and recalls European industrial production from the late 1960s and 1970s, where functionality and structure become aesthetics.
Perfect as a bookcase or display element, it fits naturally into contemporary, industrial, or more textured environments, bringing depth and a strong yet subtle presence.
