Fischel swivel stool, Czechoslovakia, early 1900s (circa 1920s–1930s).
Curved and turned wood frame, with a base of four contoured legs joined by a central ring. The central body incorporates the screw mechanism for height adjustment, typical of piano or work stools.
Circular seat in solid wood, finely engraved with a floral ornamental motif. The surface, marked by time and use, features abrasions and lightening that bring out the design with an almost graphic, highly textured effect.
The patina is authentic and deep: the contrast between the dark background and the worn areas conveys a warm, lived-in, and extremely decorative character.
Elegant and solid lines, perfectly representative of Central European bentwood production.
