Carved and gilded mirror, Italy, mid-18th century (central-northern area)
Wall mirror with a contoured and richly carved frame, crafted from carved wood and gilded with leaf, featuring scroll motifs, acanthus leaves, and lateral anthropomorphic heads, typical elements of the late Baroque/early Rococo rocaille style.
The upper cornice is strongly curved and decorative, while the overall profile features a very elegant sinuous and asymmetrical shape.
The glass is contemporary, with evident antique silvering and natural oxidation over time, creating soft, irregular reflections of great charm.
The back features an original wooden panel, secured with antique nails, a detail that confirms the age and authenticity of the piece.
