Brionvega RR126 — Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, 1965

Modular stereo system designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Brionvega in 1965.
An icon of Italian design that fuses technology, architecture, and music in a single gesture.

Made of dark walnut veneer, the cabinet is divided into three modules: the central body with the radio and turntable, flanked by two mobile speakers. The rigorously symmetrical front panel houses the metal knobs and two semicircular dials that create a landscape of mechanical precision and visual balance.
The turntable is protected by a transparent plexiglass cover; the black-painted metal base, equipped with wheels, accentuates its lightness and practicality.

The speakers can be positioned sideways or stacked, transforming the system into a domestic sound sculpture.
An object that speaks to the technological optimism and formal elegance of 1960s Italy.
