Bicycle (Ordinary Bicycle or Penny-Farthing) – late 19th century
A fascinating and rare original vintage bicycle, a testament to the early stages of cycling history. Characterized by the typical large front wheel and small rear wheel, this example retains the authentic charm of bicycles used between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The frame is made of curved tubular steel, with an elegant arched line connecting the saddle to the rear wheel. The large front wheel, approximately 113 cm in diameter, is the model's distinctive feature and allowed for high speeds thanks to the direct transmission of the pedals fixed to the hub.
Complete with the original leather saddle with spring suspension, contoured handlebars, and vintage cranks. The patina of age, traces of use, and signs of surface oxidation contribute to its historical authenticity.
Today it is an object of great scenographic impact, ideal as a collector's piece, a decorative element for interiors, showrooms, venues, museums, installations or photographic sets dedicated to industrial design and the history of mobility.
